Mid-century jewelry
The jewelry of the 1950s and 1960s: textured gold, flowers, animals and color.
After the war, jewelry grew lighter and more playful. The 1950s favored textured yellow gold, twisted and woven, set with diamonds and colored stones in flowers, leaves and animals. The 1960s brought bolder color, cabochons and the inventive gold of Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Bulgari, David Webb and Pierre Sterlé.
