Rope chain
A chain whose links are twisted together so that it looks like a rope.
Rope chains have been made for centuries, but the heavy gold rope necklaces of the Retro period and the Italian ropes of the later twentieth century are the best known.
What to look for
Check for flattened or stretched sections and for kinks. A good rope chain lies smoothly and evenly.
