Zip necklace
A Van Cleef & Arpels necklace in the form of a zip that can be closed to become a bracelet.
The idea is said to have come from the Duchess of Windsor in the late 1930s, but the first Zip was produced in 1950. Early examples are rare and highly prized.
What to look for
Check that the mechanism runs smoothly and that the tassel and stones are complete.
