Toi et moi

A ring set with two stones side by side, “you and me”, a symbol of two lives joined.

A toi et moi ring, French for “you and me”, is set with two stones side by side or facing each other, symbolizing two people joined. Tradition says Napoleon gave Joséphine a sapphire and diamond toi et moi ring when they became engaged in 1796. The form has been popular ever since, with pearls, diamonds or a diamond and a colored stone.

What to look for

The two stones should balance each other. In a bypass design, check that the stones are well protected.
