Parure

A matching set of jewels, such as a necklace, earrings, brooch and bracelet.

A parure is a set of matching jewels made to be worn together: typically a necklace, earrings, a brooch and a bracelet, sometimes a tiara. A smaller set of two or three pieces is called a demi-parure. Parures were a mark of status in the Georgian and Victorian periods, and the great houses continued to make suites throughout the twentieth century.
