Choker

A necklace worn close around the neck, also called a collar or collier de chien.

Queen Alexandra made the jewelled choker fashionable at the turn of the twentieth century. Belle Époque chokers of pearls and diamond plaques are typical of the period.

What to look for

Chokers are made to a specific size; check length and the clasp, and look for repairs to the plaques.
