Old-cut diamonds gather into a richly dimensional bloom.
Dating to circa 1880, the floral element of this ring was originally created as an antique pendant and has since been fitted with a shank for wear as a ring. The flower is set with approximately 3.10 carats of old mine-cut diamonds, centered by a larger stone and surrounded by a cluster of individually set diamonds forming overlapping petals. Mounted in silver-topped gold, the antique setting preserves the subtle irregularity and softly animated brilliance of nineteenth-century diamond cutting. The later shank allows the original jewel to be worn on the hand while retaining the character and construction of the historic floral centerpiece.
Its history remains visible in the jewel: an antique flower transformed for a new way of being worn.
