Tiffany & Co. 18K Gold Sunburst Pendant Brooch

Created by Tiffany & Co. in the 1970s, this substantial pendant brooch is built from a dense constellation of elongated 18k yellow gold elements projecting from a central point. Rough, deeply textured surfaces alternate with polished planes, catching light differently across the irregular radial composition and giving the jewel an almost sculptural depth. At 2.5 inches in diameter and an extraordinary 86 grams, the piece has considerable physical presence, while its dual pendant-brooch construction allows it to be worn either suspended or pinned.
