Georges Lenfant 18K White Gold Twisted Bracelet
Dense, tactile, and remarkably fluid, with the character of hand-worked cord.
Made in France in the 1960s, this substantial bracelet by Georges Lenfant is constructed from multiple strands of finely twisted 18k white gold, interlaced into a broad, complex braid. Each rope-like strand carries its own minute spiral texture, creating a surface that catches light softly rather than through high polish; the intricacy becomes especially apparent where the strands cross, tighten, and disappear beneath one another. At 94.5 grams, the bracelet has a considerable weight in the hand, yet its woven construction gives it the supple articulation for which Lenfant's goldwork is so admired. French hallmarks and the Georges Lenfant maker's mark complete a jewel whose distinction lies as much in its engineering as in its sculptural form.
Gold behaving almost impossibly like thread.
