Pierre Sterlé

Paris jeweler of the 1940s to 1970s, known for textured gold, birds and fringe-like gold work.

Pierre Sterlé (1905–1978) opened his own workshop in Paris in the 1930s. His sculptural birds, plumes, gold mesh and fringes made him one of the great French jewelers of the mid-century; in his later years he worked with Chaumet.

Signature and marks

Pieces are usually signed Sterlé Paris with French marks.
