Fabergé

The St Petersburg house of Peter Carl Fabergé, jeweler to the Russian imperial family.

Fabergé made the famous imperial Easter eggs from 1885, as well as enamelled objects, hardstone animals and jewels, produced by workmasters such as Perchin and Holmström.

Signature and marks

Marks include Fabergé in Cyrillic, the workmaster’s initials and Russian assay marks. Forgeries are common; expert examination is essential.
