Buccellati

Milan jewelers since 1919, whose engraved gold looks like lace, linen or silk.

Mario Buccellati (1891–1965) revived Renaissance engraving techniques, giving gold textures such as rigato, telato and tulle. His son Gianmaria carried the style forward, and the house remains famous for its honeycomb openwork.

Signature and marks

Pieces are signed Buccellati, often with Italian marks; silver pieces by Mario Buccellati are also collected.
