The story

Created in France circa 1940, this substantial bracelet reflects the architectural spirit of Retro jewelry through its bold proportions and disciplined arrangement of contrasting metals. Wide, articulated panels alternate between polished yellow gold and the cooler sheen of white gold, forming continuous horizontal bands around the wrist. At intervals, sharply defined geometric motifs interrupt this linear rhythm, their triangular forms creating a play of angles, reflections, and opposing tones.

The design occupies a compelling space between the decorative geometry of Art Deco and the more assertive volumes of the 1940s. Where earlier jewelry often relied on gemstones to establish contrast, this bracelet finds its ornament entirely within the gold itself. Its broad, closely fitted silhouette, substantial weight of 55.24 grams, and integrated clasp give it the character of a carefully constructed piece of wearable architecture.

There is particular sophistication in the restraint of its design: the smoothness of the surfaces, the precision of the articulated sections, and the quiet tension between warm and cool gold.
