Van Cleef & Arpels Lapis Lazuli 20 Motifs Alhambra Necklace 1960's

Precio de oferta$75,000.00 USD

A talisman of timeless fortune.

First dreamed into being in 1968, the Alhambra collection by Van Cleef & Arpels was born from the maison’s deep reverence for symmetry, harmony, and the age-old power of talismans. Inspired by the quatrefoil motif found in Moorish architecture—especially the namesake Alhambra Palace in Granada—it symbolized luck, love, and enduring grace. What began as a bold emblem of postwar optimism soon became a global icon, adorning the likes of Princess Grace of Monaco and generations of collectors ever since.

This rare 20-motif sautoir, crafted in 18k yellow gold with deeply saturated lapis lazuli inlay, is among the earliest examples produced—serial numbered and made in France. Its lapis, marbled with flecks of pyrite and sky, speaks of celestial depth; its hand-pierced gold edging, beaded with care, reflects the artisanal excellence that defined the early Alhambra editions. Measuring 32 inches in length and weighing 45.1 grams, it offers versatility for layering or draping, with presence that feels both meditative and decadent.

A relic of both style and spirit—crafted not merely to adorn, but to endow.
